By Carsten Salzwedel The German Trade Union Confederation (DGB) has called for a demonstration for today. The DGB is of the opinion that the planned reforms of the Federal Government curtail labour rights.

The trade unions want to draw attention to this. The meeting point for the day of action is Wilhelmplatz in Kiel. There, the DGB awaits demonstrators from all parts of the country who arrive by bus - including from Flensburg, Niebüll, Eckernförde, Lübeck and Mölln. The rally starts at 11 a.m.

The demo then leads over the Kronshagener Weg, the Exerzierplatz and through the Rathausstraße to the Rathausplatz. Another rally is planned there at 11.55 am. What the DGB demands of politics The DGB wants to demonstrate with the Day of Action for Workers' Rights and Social Rights. The union sees the planned reforms of the Federal Government as a curtailment of labour rights and calls, among other things, for a policy that secures jobs and locations as well as taxes on high wealth.

In addition, the company demands reliable working hours, no sick leave from the first day and the abolition of chain contracts. This is the attitude of the Federal Government The Federal Government justifies reforms in the economy and in the social system, among other things, with the aging population and thus wants to make Germany capable of acting and competitive in the long term. Above all, the competitiveness of the economy must be strengthened - it is the basis for prosperity in Germany.
