Eisleben: The 505th Eisleber Wiese is open

80,000 square meters, 500,000 people, 300 stands – on Friday, the 505th Eisleber Wiese in the Lutherstadt. It is the largest and one of the oldest folk festivals in Saxony-Anhalt.
Saxony-Anhalt's biggest folk festival has begun: until Monday, the Eisleber Wiese attracts visitors to Lutherstadt Eisleben with beer tents and numerous rides. About 300 shops and rides are set up on the 80,000 square metre festival grounds. According to market manager Siegmund Michalski, they were selected from around 800 applications.
A further 50,000 square meters are available to the showmen and showmen for vehicles and caravans. In addition, there is around 100,000 square metres of parking space. In total, the organisers expect around 500,000 visitors by Monday. "The essential thing about the meadow is of course the sheer size," said Michalski MDR SAXONY-ANHALT.
The Ghost Railway by Hermann Fellerhoff is also included. “We only go to the biggest events,” says the showman. For smaller events, the effort would not be worthwhile at all: Germany's largest two-day ghost train arrives with nine trucks. “We have over 35 characters and effects here.

Festive parade in Eisleben The more than 1,000 square metre meadow tent with 600 seats and 400 standing places also belongs to the site. It is reminiscent of the tents of the Munich Oktoberfest. On Saturday, the big parade with around 2,000 participants is expected to march through Eisleben.
