A scenario that has been practiced: Chemical substances are leaking out of BASF's premises. The substances are detected with a tank - and then the soldiers are decontaminated.
Colonel takes positive stock of the exercise at BASF
Even during the ongoing exercise, Colonel Dirk Metz drew a positive balance sheet of the exercise. It was "really great," the commander of the ABC defense regiment 750 Baden told the SWR. The Bundeswehr is very grateful to BASF for the fact that a total of 43 soldiers were able to practice on the BASF site.
"The more realistic I can make the training of my soldiers, the more they are ready for a possible emergency," added Colonel Dirk Metz.

The exercise on the premises of BASF in Ludwigshafen is embedded in the large-scale exercise "Badischer Sturm" of the ABC Defence Regiment from Bruchsal. The approximately 500 soldiers involved are practicing the reconnaissance of nuclear and chemical threats. This includes finding toxins and treating injured people.
