Bumper to bumper cars, vans, trucks roll through a residential street in the south of Speyer. Since the local bypass via the B9 and the L528 is fully blocked, the vehicles have been jammed from morning to night. "A disaster" laments Tanja Schmunk almost resignedly. She has to drive the route every day, actually around Speyer, but now the diversion takes her through the city. “Normally it takes me ten minutes. It's been 40 to 50 minutes since the lock," she says through the car window.
