After the cancellation of the important space fair "Space Tech Expo", the Supervisory Board of Messe Bremen debated the effects of the planned move to Frankfurt am Main. Without the "Space Tech Expo", the trade fair risks losing up to 700,000 euros, said the chairman and Bremen State Councilor for Economic Affairs, Kai Stührenberg (Die Linke).

Bremen may have to support the fair financially

Stührenberg said talks were underway to bring new trade fairs and events to Bremen. "We will now continue to look at this to see: where can we still acquire something, where can we perhaps take up topics again and record them anew," he said.

This is actually a relatively high challenge in the current market environment.

It therefore does not exclude that the city must therefore support Messe Bremen with additional money. The "Space Tech Expo" will take place in Bremen for the last time in November. Around 12,000 visitors are expected.

Bremen loses space exhibition "Space Tech Expo" to Frankfurt

The "Space Tech Expo" has been taking place in Bremen since 2015. It is considered Europe's largest space trade fair. But according to the Senate, this has now come to an end: the trade fair has become too large.
