On Thursday evening, around 6:15 pm, the staff of the Pforzheim detention centre reported that the inmates were unwell. According to police, 20 people were involved in the riots. The officers were on site with more than 30 forces.

Pforzheim deportation detention: Inmates involved were initially separated

The occupants involved were separated as a precautionary measure in one area of the building, according to the police. In the further course, contact could be made with the 20 persons concerned. These were therefore cooperative, so that all could then be brought into their rooms without resistance by the emergency services.

Anna Schwalbe, spokeswoman for the Pforzheim police, confirmed to the SWR in the evening that there had been internal conflicts between inmates and employees. Deployments of this kind are not so common.

Police: No threat situation

The police have not yet given any details of what exactly happened in the deportation facility. There was no danger to the uninvolved. There are currently no findings that people have been injured, according to the police.
