On Saturday evening, a fire broke out on an agricultural site in Tübingen-Pfrondorf. Among other things, a riding facility was on fire. The ten farm residents were able to bring themselves to safety unharmed and also to rescue all 47 horses housed on the facility from the stables.
The fire brigade was on site with a large contingent of 151 emergency personnel and 28 vehicles and was able to bring the fire under control just before midnight. Police, emergency services and the Technical Relief Agency (THW) were also on site. According to the information, the deployment can last until the early hours of the morning.
Riding yard in flames: Scale burn spreads
According to initial findings of the police, for unknown reasons, a shed on a farm initially caught fire. The fire then spread to other buildings on the site.
The house was damaged in the fire, but the fire department was able to prevent complete destruction. The police were not yet able to say exactly how much damage was ultimately caused, but estimated it at a low, single-digit million figure.
